Canada Permanent Residence Processing Time
Canada Permanent Residence
A Canadian Permanent Resident is someone who can lawfully live in Canada but is not a native Canadian citizen. A permanent resident is someone who has been granted permanent resident status after moving to Canada but is not a citizen of Canada. Permanent residents are foreign nationals. A temporary resident in Canada, such as a student or foreign worker, is not a permanent resident.
Resettled refugees from other countries become permanent residents via the Government-Assisted Refugee Program or the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program. When a person files a refugee claim in Canada, they do not become a permanent resident. To become one, their claim must first be approved by the Immigration and Refugee Board. Then they must apply for and get permanent residence status.
Canada Permanent Residence Processing Time
A processing period begins when an application is received and concludes when a decision is made. The period begins when your application arrives in their mailbox if you apply by mail. It begins when you make your selection, whether online or in person.
Several variables can influence processing time, including:
the nature of the application that was submitted
If the application is complete, how quickly they process previously submitted applications, how readily they can check your information, and how long it takes you to react to any requests or concerns
additional elements
The processing of the Canada permanent residency (PR) Visa takes 5-8 months from obtaining the ITA (Invitation to Apply).
